With the threat of rebellion extinguished, Claudio can focus on love as he is promised to the lady Hero, and Benedick can continue his battle of wits with Hero’s cousin, Beatrice. Meanwhile, Don Juan’s resentment will shape into a plan to ruin Claudio’s and Hero’s marriage.

The cast and crew of Love Parade.

In October of 2021 I had the privilege of being part of the original cast of Love Parade, a play by Justin Vibbert that made its debut at the New York Theater Festival. This play explores tradition, honesty, and societal change as it shows what lies behind the facade of a traditional New England nuclear family. I played Ben, a stranger whose entrance in the lives of some of the family members will change it forever.

Everything is ready for Con’s play to begin as the audience members take their seats. In Aaron Posner’s modern adaptation of Chekhov’s The Seagull, the audience embarks in a journey in which love, fame, and family will be analyzed and broken down as the calm routine of this country estate is upset by the many love triangles formed after the arrival of Emma, Con’s mother, and Trigorin, a famous writer and Emma’s lover. When Nina, Con’s love, starts dreaming of the fame represented by the writer Trigorin and falls in love everything starts falling apart.

During a Sunday afternoon in an apartment in Brooklyn, 7 people’s lives intertwine after an accident occurred. Evan has just been stabbed, and his sister Ellen calls her best friend Tessa to her apartment for further help after Evan’s fiancé Diane tried her best to patch him up. Along with Tessa comes Stanley, her “best friend,” whose feelings for the girl will be made explicit throughout the play. In the meantime, Mirabelle, Evan and Ellen’s neighbor, and Jerome, Ellen’s boyfriend, come into play, both guided by their hearts. The audience, through the lenses of a twisted Aesop’s fable, sees their deepest instincts and insecurities arise as their attempts to get what they want make them move further and further away from stability.
